Ubuntu 13.04: ehternet connection not working
My ethernet connection is no longer working. When I check ifconfig, the information is wrong.
dustin@dustin:~$ ifconfig
eth0 Link encap:Ethernet HWaddr dc:0e:a1:3b:7c:f0
inet6 addr: fe80::de0e:a1ff:fe3b:7cf0/64 Scope:Link
UP BROADCAST MULTICAST MTU:1500 Metric:1
RX packets:6954 errors:0 dropped:0 overruns:0 frame:0
TX packets:1778 errors:0 dropped:0 overruns:0 carrier:0
collisions:0 txqueuelen:1000
RX bytes:2316328 (2.3 MB) TX bytes:284974 (284.9 KB)
That hardware address is not the MAC address of the connected modem. Why won't ubuntu recognize the wire connection and why is a wrong MAC address present?
